We do so because we want to honor the memory of our fallen warriors who have given everything for their country, with that in mind, please
for a special service in Waconia on Monday, May 31st in City Square Park and earlier in the surrounding cemeteries. Please see a list below for the cemetery services.
The American Legion Post 150 Memorial Day program begins a 10:45 AM in Waconia. The event starts with a parade that begins at the intersection of 2nd & Olive Street and ends at City Square Park. The formal service program starts at 11:00 AM in City Square Park and includes guest speaker Lieutenant Commander Michael Petersen USNR, Retired, and performances by the Waconia High School Marching Band.

Joe Gifford leads the American Legion restoration effort for the Civil War Soldiers Memorial, Civil War Cannon, and World War I memorials located at Waconia’s City Square Park. In my video, I talk about the Civil War Soldiers Memorial. Joe is most excited about the opportunity to restore the Civil War Soldiers memorial it will be a lot of work needing donations and support, but history is worth restoring. How can we make a difference in our future if we don’t remember our past?
